Alex Hurtado is a Detection Engineering Research Director at Anvilogic and host of the Detection Engineering Dispatch podcast. With extensive experience in cybersecurity, she specializes in SIEM technologies, detection engineering, and threat modeling.
Previously at IBM, Alex served as Worldwide Technical Lead for QRadar Cloud-Native SIEM and QRadar XDR, where she created and maintained technical sales resources, built demo infrastructure, and led POC programs for customer engagements. She conducted bootcamp-style workshops globally to train sales engineering teams on software Proof of Concepts.
Alex has consulted Fortune-500 organizations and high-profile law enforcement entities on cybersecurity management, led investigative forensic deep dives into cyber attack escalations, and maintains expertise in threat hunting, detection rule optimization, and MITRE ATT&CK coverage.
She is bilingual in English and Spanish, holds an ASQ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, and is an IBM Recognized Speaker/Presenter.
