Dan Caprio is an internationally recognized expert on transatlantic privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory and policy risk. He is a Senior Policy Advisor at DLA Piper.
He has served as Chief Privacy Officer and Acting Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy at the U.S. Department of Commerce; a transatlantic subject matter expert for the European Commission’s Internet of Things expert group; Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff to a Federal Trade Commissioner; and Vice Chair of the Federal Internet of Things Advisory Committee.
In 2002, Dan represented the U.S. delegation revising the OECD Security Guidelines, which formed the basis for the first White House Cybersecurity Strategy in 2003.
